The recurvers qualified in 11th spot, earning a bye into last 16 where they faced Germany. It ended in a tie, forcing a shoot-off. Germany shot 25 but the British trio shot an almost perfect 29 and seized the opportunity, going on to defeat China 5-1. That brought them head to head with Chinese Taipei in the semis for one of the closest matches yet. Again, it ended in a tie and Britain edged it by a single point. That left them facing the might of double Olympic Champion and world number one Chang Hye Jin, world number three Kang Chae Young and Jung Dasomi in the battle for gold.
